Residents of Mokomoni were left astounded after a preservative used in mortuaries was found at an illicit brew den.
This happened when police raided the of the notoriously illicit brew dens in the area, working on a tip-off from some concerned residents.
The police impounded hundreds of liters of the illicit drink, with many more liters in the process of being prepared. That is when the police stumbled on the preservative, commonly known as pharmaline.
The residents were left shocked by the revelation, swearing that they will never take the illicit drink.
However, the addicts said they will never stop taking the alcohol since there is no effect from the said drug. They argued that they have been taking the same drink for years now, and were still healthy and energetic.
Illicit brewing in Kisii is rampant, and people have lost lives in these said dens.
Police and the administrative officers have been making swoops every now and then on these dens, but still, they continue to survive.
