Eva Msando, the wife of slain IEBC ICT manager, has spoken to the media for the first time, months after the grotesque death of her husband; a death that captured the public imagination and drove the news agenda for days on end.Tears clouding her eyes and her voice choking with emotion, Eva gives chilling details surrounding the death of her husband, a man she says she loved deeply. The day Msando was killed, he exchanged text messages with his wife. Chris failure to come home that day left her deeply worried.Days later her worst fears were confirmed, she saw her cold husband's body laid out on a slab at the city mortuary.''I asked them if I could go in but they said no. My brother went in and when he came out there was something in his face.I asked if it was him and he looked at me and confirmed that, yes, it was him. I told him, ''Take me in I want to see.'' When I went in, and I saw it was him very cold, and lifeless, laid out on a slab. His wrists had three well-measured cuts, still bleeding. I was in shock, I didn't expect to... till now the picture is still there, with his eyes shut on a metal slab,'' Eva says between tears.Questions raced through her mind at the City Mortuary, all fighting for prominence but one question nagged her deeply, ''What I am I going to tell my children.''Eva says her husband was a man of the people, a selfless man who loved to give.'' He's loving, that's for sure. Chris is very innovative. Chris put people first before himself. Chris was just the best, any woman would ask for, any child would ask for as a father,'' Eva said. She rejected the notion that her husband was involved in a toxic love triangle, saying that ''mpango wa kando'' never existed in her world with Msando.
