The debate on the transfer of teachers from North Eastern over insecurity to 'safer' areas continues to consume public debate.
The public is divided on whether the transfers should go on or be stopped.
As the debate rages, affected teachers give accounts of the horror that they suffered in the North Eastern region, calling on the government to transfer them to safer areas.
Non-local teachers have complained of being disrespected by their students, with some even threatening to kill them.
''We line in constant fear. Our own students abuse, ridicule and disrespect us... Sometimes they even threaten to kill us. I am pleading with the Kenyan government to take us to safer place. This is too much for us,'' a teacher who works in one school says with tears in her eyes on condition of anonymity.
North Eastern leaders have asked the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) not to transfer the teachers, calling it discrimination.
