Garissa county has unquestionably suffered a number of terror attacks from the militia based in Somalia Alshabaab.
From religious institutions to learning places, the terror group carried out unprecedented attacks that have affected the residents psychologically and economically damaged.
Nevertheless, these are the most gruesome terror attacks carried out by the Alshabab in the vast region that will remain etched in the mind of many residents .

The only higher learning in the entire northeastern region suffered the worst terror attack on the Kenyan soil.
Hooded gunmen stormed the institution on April 2, 2015, and massacred 148 students, mostly the Christians faith students.
The chilling massacre of the innocent students stirred public uproar that led to the firing of top security personnel in the region among them Northeastern regional commander Earnest Munyi and county commissioner Njenga Miiri for dereliction of duties.
Though it is three years down the line since the attack, the gory images of the slain students remain etched in the minds of many residents.
African Inland Church
On July 1, 2012, hooded gunmen stormed the African Inland church and started shooting at the worshippers indiscriminately, killing 20 of them instantly.
The killing led to the indefinite closure of the church and was not reopened it until security situation was 'guaranteed' fully.
