Uasin Gishu women representative Gladys Shollei has termed NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga's withdrawal from the race as a big achievement for the nation.
Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV Tuesday, Shollei said that with Odinga absent in the race, there is a very high possibility that there will be no other candidate leading to President Uhuru being announced the President unopposed and therefore, saving the nation from the high election expenditure.
She said that the same will also lower the rising political temperatures.
''His withdrawal is an advantage to Kenyans as they will now avoid all the trouble experienced during the campaign period,'' she said.
She further accused Odinga of being a hardliner saying that his policies are to be blamed for the lack of a well established electoral commission in the country.
''Raila has always been against electoral bodies after every election and is always not willing to listen to the other side.It is unfortunate that he assumes that he must win all the time when in real sense he is harming the nation's electoral setup,'' she said.
