Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has asked the electoral commission to produce the degree papers they used to clear Governor Hassan Ali Joho ahead of the August 8 polls.
Through his lawyer Yusuf Abubakar, Omar filed two new applications before Mombasa High Court Lady Justice Lydia Achode on Friiday challenging legitimacy of Joho’s election.“We request a copy of degree certificate used by IEBC as academic qualification by the third respondent to contest the Mombasa gubernatorial election,” the lawyer says.
According to the IEBC, Joho holds two bachelors degrees from Gretsa University in Thika and Kampala University in Uganda.
