Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has launched a scathing attack on Governor Amason Kingi.
Mung’aro challenged Kingi to show residents what he has done with the billions of money the national government has allocated the county since 2013.
The lawmaker, who spoke at Rabai grounds during Deputy President William Ruto’s visit in the county, accused Kingi of not doing much despite having been in charge of the county for the last years.
He asked Kingi to outline some of the projects he has initiated instead of asking President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy to account for their performance.
“Instead of Governor Kingi demanding accountability from the national government, he should also tell Kenyans what he has done with the billions allocated to the county,” said Mung’aro, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
The governor hopeful lauded Jubilee’s development record in the region, adding that Uhuru deserves a second term in office.
“When we do comparison with the previous governments which ruled Kenya for more than 50 years, it is only Jubilee that has greatly helped the Coastal people barely four years in office,” said Mung’aro.
