A political showdown looms at Parliament after Jubilee-allied MPs started working on a scheme to take some of the powers vested in the Judiciary.
The MPs plan to introduce radical electoral amendments that will "cage" the Supreme Court, something that is expected to attract a lot of resistance from opposition MP'.
If the MPs have their way, it will be impossible for the Supreme Court to overturn results of a presidential election once the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announces the winner.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday said that when the amendments are passed, "The Supreme Court will be caged."
With the ratification coming ahead of the October 26 presidential election rerun, Opposition NASA are expected to read mischief and stage a resistance in a bid to protect the 'friendly' court.
