Deputy President William Ruto has said that the country does not need to change the constitution to enjoy what was envisioned as far as devolution is concerned.
Ruto argues in that the country only needs leaders who are focused and ready to live the devolution in accordance with the 2010 constitution.
The Deputy President who was speaking during the closure of the 5th Devolution Conference in Kakamega County Thursday morning likened those calling for the change of the constitution to fully achieve devolution to a bad workman who always finds excuses when he fails to achieve his intentions.
The glamour for the change of the constitution has also been opposed by South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro.
Osoro says the constitution should not be changed to fit into the tastes of a few individuals in the country whom he accused as being self-centered.
The criticism by the two leaders appears to have been targeted at the former prime minister and NASA Leader Raila Odinga and his brigade who have been agitating for the changing of the 2010 constitution.
