Kenya Rugby Sevens aside team famously known as Shujaa has been placed in a tough group in the weekend’s World HBSC Sevens World Series in South Africa.
The Cape Town series will see Shujaa square it out with hosts and champions South Africa, France and Russia in pool A.
Last weekend, Kenya was in the same group with South Africa during the Dubai series. South Africa thrashed Shujaa 48-5 in one of group A matches.
Kenya won 29-15 and 29-14 against Canada and Uganda respectively to qualify for the main cup quarter finals. The innocent Simiyu coached side however lost narrowly 12-14 against New Zealand in the quarters.
The Cape Town series squad has already been beefed up following the inclusion of Erick Ombassa, Samuel Muregi and Oscar Ouma.
Shujaa squad for Cape Town series is as follows: Oscar Ayodi (Captain), Oscar Ouma (Vice Captain), Nelson Oyoo, Willy Ambaka, Frank Wanyama, Eden Agero, Dan Sikuta, Brian Tanga, Samuel Oliech, Herman Humwa, Jeff Oluoch, Samuel Muregi and Erick Ombasa.
Kenya is now 10th on the World Series Standings 2017/2018 season.
