After a not-so-impressive performance in the just concluded Sydney HSBC series, Kenya’s Shujaa now shifts their attention to this weekend’s Hamilton Sevens.
The home team will start the Hamilton campaign with a match against Samoa on Saturday, February 3 at 1.00 am (EAT).
The team is in Pool D, where they have Canada and USA, who are under the tutelage of former Harambee Stars Coach Mike Friday.
Their next match after Samoa will be against Canada, which has in recent matches improved drastically.
Shujaa will then play their final group match against Friday’s charges on the same day at 8.22 (EAT) on the same Saturday.
Innocent Simiyu’s team touched down in New Zealand on Monday and will have a week to prepare for the assignment.
They are placed ninth after their show in Sydney and will be aiming to perform even better at the New Zealand games.
The team managed to hit their target of 10 points in Australia, an improved performance from the Dubai series where they only collected three points.
The group matches will be tricky for the home side, with the USA the strongest opponent after a good show in Sydney where they finished third.
