Mong’are said the electioneering season is a time when politicians like misusing youths hence advised youth to be more vigilant.

“I would like to warn youths to channel their energies in productive activities instead of being misused by politicians for their own political gain,” said Mong’are when he addressed journalists at a Kisii hotel on Saturday.

The Senator added that youths have the potential to start businesses instead of depending on politicians who most of the time misuse them.

"I urge youths to avoid this habit of being misled by politicians, youths have a potential of doing business rather than being misused,” said Mong’are

"I challenge youths across the country to get serious about their lives and participate in constructive businesses that will improve their livelihoods,” he said.

"Youths are the leaders of tomorrow and we will make sure that they are protected for our country to have a brighter future,” Mong’are added.

He urged youths in the county to restrain from being used by some individuals to cause tension in the region for their personal gains.

"They should not be so desperate to an extent of being manipulated for somebody's interests," he said.
