Koinange alleged that the opposition is using young people to cause violence and disrupt peace.

He alleged that the recent protest by Cord clearly shows that they are using young people to disrupt peace.

“Most people who join Cord leaders in the protests are young people who are being incited to violence,” said Koinange.

The lawmaker who spoke to journalists at Kiambaa town on Sunday said that the Cord protest will not address their issues.

The MP said that opposition is using protesters as a front to champion their selfish interests.

The Kiambaa lawmaker accused the opposition of perpetuating impunity through their protests.

“It is unfortunate that opposition leaders can incite supporters to violence in the name of having IEBC disbanded,” he said.

Koinange at the same time urged religious leaders to intervene on the matter and have it resolved.

He warned that the chaotic protests by the opposition could easily plunge the country into violence if not stopped.
