Kisii Catholic Diocese head Bishop Joseph Mairura has cautioned politicians against engaging in early campaigns and instead focus on serving the electorate.Speaking during the ordination of Father Benjamin Avoga , Mairura noted that elected leaders are engaging in baseless politics at the expense of the people who elected them."I wonder if we have a law in Kenya that stops politicians from early campaigns, and if there is one, then let the concerned authorities implement it. They are engaging in early campaigns forgetting that they should serve the electorate," the Bishop said Saturday during the event at Nyamira Catholic Church.Bishop Mairura's sentiments were echoed by Nyamira Senator Okongo Mong'are who also attended the function saying most of the development projects have stalled as opponents of the elected leaders politicise and criticise the good work done by those in office. "The law must be followed if at all we need development. Let us do campaigns at the right time," said Mong'are.
