Professor Mucere Mugo has called upon the youth to keep off negative ethnicity.
Th professor was speaking while giving a lecture on political leadership at the Riara University on Monday afternoon.
She told the youth to avoid it and follow good ways that can be beneficial to them and the country.
The occasion which was also attended by Kisumu senator saw the professor pump a lot of wisdom into the young people most of them being university students.
Mugo was born Madeleine Mugo in Baricho Kirinyaga district in 1942 and has lectured at several universities including The Syracuse University. She is also a poet,critic,activist,instructor and an author being ranked among the top 100 female writers.
She has received several awards for her remarkable job including Rockefeller Foundation Award for Writing and Publication in 1992 and Distinguished Africanist Scholar Award in 2007.
In 1982, she was forced into exile to Zimbabwe after the attempted coup which saw her stripped of her Kenyan citizenship and assumed full Zimbabwean citizenship in 1984.
She also shared some of her life experiences and thanked her family which she said has been supportive all through.
