(Photo: nation.co.ke)National Cohesion and Integration commission (NCIC) chairman Francis Ole Kaparo has urged Kenyans to shun inciters, hate-mongers and propagandists as the country enters campaign period in readiness for the August 8 polls.
Kaparo says that Kenyans have no business associating with politicians’ who promote hatred and violence in campaigns.
Speaking at KICC during an election preparedness meeting organized by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) on Tuesday, Kaparo said that the commission is keenly monitoring politician’s activities as the country prepares for polls.
The NCIC boss said the commission will not allow rogue politicians to incite for violence.
He said that the commission has deployed peace monitors across the country to track hate mongers. “We are not going to allow propagandists, inciters and hate mongers threaten the country’s security this election period,” he said.
Kaparo said the commission is working closely with other stakeholders to nail down hate mongers and guarantee violence free August 8 polls.
He urged the media to work closely with the commission in exposing hate mongers.
“Our appeal is to the members of the fourth estate to partner with us and help us nail down perpetrators of hate speech and incitement,” he said.
