Widows have been challenged to shun irresponsible sexual behaviours,instead concetrate in bringing up their orphans to become responsible future citizens.
Itumbe location of Sameta sub-county,Chief Henry Mirera has warned widows within his jurisdiction against engaging in immoral sexual behavoirs at the expense of bringing up their children in a responsible manner.
Speaking at Boronyi village in the area during a fundraiser to offset mortuary fees for the late Evans Onyando,the administrator said,majoprity of the widows started engaging in irresponsible sexual behaviours immediately after burying their husbands thowing all caution to the air in the era of HIV infections.
"Iam warning all widows in my jurisdiction to live morally upright lives and if I receive information that some of you widows are breaking other women's families you will not get away with it unless you do that outside my location,"warned Mirera.
Mirera encouraged all widows in his location to routinely consult his office for various economic empowerment assistance and support from the Government,to sustain their children continue and complete their education successfully.
He warned widows who benefit from pubblic funds for their children's education and support agaiinst diverting such funds into chang'aa brewing,reminding them if found they will be blacklisted and miss out on the allocations of such funds.
