Njoro sub-county residents have been told to ignore political leaders spreading propaganda and malicious rumours.
Addressing the press at Njoro town on Tuesday, area MP Joseph Kiuna said peace will provide a plaftform for development.
He said that development would not be realised if there is no peace and unity among the people and their leaders.
“My appeal is to Njoro people to embrace one another and support every initiative being taken to maintain unity,” he said.
Kiuna lashed out at some unnamed leaders who he said are known for spreading propaganda and malicious rumours.
He said that such leaders will not be given a chance to cause disharmony among Njoro residents and Nakuru at large.
The MP said that there is need for leaders to use their positions to preach unity among the people.
He said that many conflicts, especially those relating to land matters are triggered by politicians and other prominent individuals.
Kiuna told residents to be wary of such leaders and shun them completely and instead work with the leaders who are development-oriented.
The lawmaker told residents that he is keen to improve the living standards of the people, adding that various development projects are already going on.
