Kiambu Deputy Governor Gerald Githinji wants locals to shun leaders that perpetrate divisions and instead work with the government to realize development.
Speaking at Githunguri town on Monday, Githinji accused some leaders of perpetrating hate messages and divisions.
The Deputy Governor said that some leaders are keen to divide the county top leadership with residents.
“I want to ask Kiambu people to shun leaders who are spreading rumours and false allegations against our county government,” he said.
The deputy governor said that the county will not be moved by a few leaders who have neglected their roles.
He said the county will focus on addressing the challenges facing common people adding that adequate measures are in place to promote development.
Githinji urged residents to support the William Kabogo government as it strives to enhance development projects.
The deputy governor affirmed that the county has set aside enough funds to implement all projects before the 2017 general elections.
He asked residents to get involved in the activities taking part in the county saying it is their constitutional right.
Githinji said the county will continue to seek the views of residents on key issues before implementation.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor has announced that all roads in the county will be repaired by the end of this financial year.
Githinji said that the county has set enough funds that will see all roads renovated to proper standards in order to ease transport.
