Lamu politician Rishad Amana said the war of words between the two leaders portrays a bad image of coastal people and Muslims in general.

"The sideshows they are now treating Kenyans to will do more harm than good in the long run. This is dirty politics whose end will not be pleasant," Amana told journalists on Wednesday.

Amana said the two leaders should use a different approach to solve their issues instead of getting too personal with each other.

This comes after Joho and Ruto renewed their rivalry following the ongoing war on drugs in the country, with the governor accusing the Jubilee administration of linking him to the illegal business.
