A section of elders drawn from Siaya County's Nyismwa clan have warned NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga against pushing for the six piece voting pattern ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday at Migwena cultural and sports grounds during the launch of John Andiwo's campaigns, the elders challenged the former Prime Minister to focus on his presidential bid.
Andiwo is gunning for the Bondo parliamentary seat as an independent candidate after losing the ODM Party ticket during the primaries.
"We want to demonstrate to ODM party bigwigs that the primaries were shambolic hence we have opted for independent candidates," Otoyo Chiambe, one of the elders said.
They further vowed to drum up support for Siaya gubernatorial hopeful and Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo who is seeking to unseat the incumbent governor Cornell Rasanga.
"The best leaders were rigged out during the primaries. We shall vote for them. We will also support Andiwo and Florence Aluodo for woman MP," Chiambe noted.
Raila has since endorsed Rasanga for a second term.
Gumbo lost the ODM ticket to Rasanga during the party primaries, and will be vying as an independent candidate.
