Siaya governor Cornell Rasanga’s political advisor George Ochieng was attacked and his car set ablaze by unknown arsonists at his home in Kipasi village Bondo Sub-county

Ochieng disclosed that he heard people walking in his compound at around 3 am, Monday, and moments later there was a loud bang and a bright light outside the house before he realised that his car was on fire.

He said the attack was politically instigated and that the assailants may have intended to do more harm.

He confided that he had received a phone call from a man who threatened him for rallying support for re-election of Rasanga.

Ochieng said that the man said that he will teach him a lesson for helping ODM party to impose a corrupt governor on the people of Siaya.

He added that he had received several death threats from unknown individuals.

“I  have already reported the same to police for investigations,” he said.

Bondo OCPD Paul Kiarie confirmed the incident saying investigation would be launched.

He disclosed that when police arrived at the scene, they found cans with petrol and suspected poisoned food around the house that they suspect to have been intended to kill Maweres’ security dogs.
