Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has exuded fears that ODM's "blatant rigging" seen in Busia will be repeated in Siaya and warned that they will not accept any bit of it.

Speaking on Friday, the MP said that currently, Siaya's ODM elections board members have their own leaders whom they want to impose on the electorate.

Midiwo said a time has come when Raila's party has to prove to the people that it upholds the very democracy it preaches and said that only properly elected leaders should be handed the nomination certificates.

He insisted that any skewed and doctored results will never be accepted in Siaya since aspirants have been working hard to secure the tickets through a free and fair exercise.

“Why would bad leaders be forced on electorate [who have decided] who should lead them in broad daylight?" he asked.

“I am asking party officials and the elections board to allow democracy in the nominations to curb any fallout that might lead to voter apathy in ODM strongholds,” he said.

This comes just days after Funyula MP Paul Otuoma and Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong's results were nullified following allegations that the latter had rigged the polls.

Speaking over the polls, Midiwo asked ODM to hand Otuoma the gubernatorial certificate on grounds that he trounced Ojaamong.

He added that the Busia governor must be charged for rigging the polls.

Expressing the same sentiments as Midiwo were Siaya gubernatorial aspirant William Oduol and the Alego-Usonga parliamentary aspirant Samuel Atandi who lamented that the Siaya elections board was leaning on one side.

They claimed that some of Rasanga's allies were waiting to be favoured, claims that the board chair dismissed and said that aspirants' sympathisers could not be selected to be part of the team
