Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Sicily Kariuki has reiterated that the Jubilee Government is committed to ensure youth, women and marginalised groups are empowered economically.
Speaking at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Friday during the International Youth Day National celebrations in Kenya, the CS assured youths of Gopvernmnet support to ensure they are empowered economically adding that the youths are the strongest investment of the nation.
"We all know the Jubilee Manifesto when it comes to matters of youths, women and marginalized groups. As we mark this years Youth Day I would like to assure the youths in Nakuru and Nation at large that the Government is committed to ensure you are economically empowered,"said the CS.
She however called on youths and women to ensure they join various groups in order to benefit from government funding such as Youth Enterprise Fund, Uwezo Fund and Women Enterprise fund.
According to the CS most youths have talents but they fail to join groups so as to benefit from the funds which the Governmnet has set aside for them.
"I would like to appeal to the youths to understand that the Government has set aside funds and you can only benefit if you join groups and apply for the funds"she said.
Her sentiments were echoed by Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria and his Town West Counterpart Samuel Arama who also appealed to the youths to take advantage of the various funds set aside for them by the Government.
