Speaking when he officially took over office at the Orange House on Wednesday, Sifuna said that rebels allegedly ‘spying’ for other parties will not be tolerated.

He stated that the Orange party is going to deal firmly with rebels who he said have been wreaking havoc in the Raila Odinga led party.

“It is not going to be business as usual and rebels who have been spying for Jubilee and other parties should be ready to quit or face the wrath of the party,” he said.

The Nairobi based lawyer said that ODM is a national party and will not tolerate people who are not committed to its manifesto and agenda.

The Secretary General said that he has the blessings of the party top leaders to lead the war against rebels.

He said that the party will hit the ground running to clean up itself in preparation for the 2022 General Election.

Sifuna was appointed the Orange Party SG during the party National Governing council meeting last week.

The Nairobi based lawyer who unsuccessfully contested for the Nairobi senate seat in last year’s general election, takes over from nominated senator Agnes Zani.

Senator Zani has been serving in an acting capacity since 2016 following the resignation of former Secretary General,  Ababu Namwamba.
