Maliti who graced the borehole point at Masewani said that distribution of water from the solar-powered borehole to the community commences immediately. "Water is a Right, not a Privilege" it remains our guide as we work towards ensuring every resident in Machakos County has to access to clean water," said Maliti.Maliti further said that the commissioning of the borehole will see residents within the area get access to clean water for free which has been a scarce commodity in the area.This is the first borehole to be commissioned this year by the Machakos County Government as it seeks to help curb lack of adequate water among its residents.Masewani residents can now breath a sigh of relief and have been challenged to embrace agriculture and irrigation to increase their farm yields.
