Mwala Mau-mau war veterans association members have condemned the members of the county assembly of Machakos aiming to impeach governor Mutua.
Led by the chairman Rev Johnson Kieti, they said that these MCA's are money-hungry and want to be given public funds to feed their hungry bellies.
Kieti noted that governor Mutua has proven his worth to the people of Machakos and they won't allow a few greedy MCA's to taint his name.
"We can never have a leader like governor Mutua and we won't at all cost allow a few people who want to fill their pockets with public funds destroy the leadership of our county," said Kieti.
He further went ahead to say that whoever will sign for the impeachment of the governor should forget the votes of the association in the next coming general election.
"They should know we are watching and have agreed with one voice not to reinstate whoever will sign for the governors impeachment," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Forty-six out of the fifty-nine of the members of the Machakos County Assembly has appended signatures to a motion to impeach Governor Alfred Mutua citing abuse of office, lack of integrity and lack of public participation in decision making.
Last week, the governor claimed the impeachment motion was an effort by the MCA's to extort money from him.
