The eviction of hawkers in Nakuru Town could be taking a different turn as nominated MCA started an exercise to collect signatures to have the Nakuru County government disbanded.
The Margaret Kiiru led exercise is motivated by what she termed as lack of implementation of the affirmative action.
"As the youth we are side-lined. It is us being thrown out of these streets. We are the ones who put the governor and his administration in place and we are ready to remove him," said Kiiru in Nakuru town on Thursday.
Kiiru said that they are going to launch the initiative throughout the county saying that the county government is a disappointment to the Nakuru Youth.
"We already have 1,000 signatures and we will be launching the exercise in churches and other public forums," she added.
She said that she did not want to ask the youth to go to the street to force the government out when there is an option of collecting signatures.
"We are civilised and we do not believe that mass protests is the way to go," she said.
