Being in a relationship is quite a wonderful feeling. One feels more loved, more cared of and well appreciated by the one person. But once the relationship is no longer working both are forced to go there separate ways. More than once one is forced to get over a past relationship is by jumping into a new one. In most cases, some of them normally work while others don't.
Rebound relationships are perfect cures for heartbreak but to actually get over a relationship, one needs to accept the turn of events. Unless you learn to accept the current change in your life that you need to move on, your thoughts about your ex will always linger on no matter how many new people you date. Here are some of the signs:
Comparisons: no matter how the new relationship is good one may find him or herself comparing every detail with that of the past. One has to understand that no relationship is better than the other, learn to enjoy the present romance.
Bumping into your ex: At times it can be seen as a sign of coincidence or fate. If you dream of the happy conversations you'd have with each other or how the lingering touches would feel, you're definitely in love with your ex and may cause problems to your new relationship.
Talking about your ex: it is a way of keeping in touch with the memories that you don't want to let go. If one of your friends talk about him or her is quite acceptable but for you, it won't turn out well. The more you engage in conversations about your ex one slowly drifts back to them and end up hurting even more.
You dream of your sex: thinking about your life with your ex in different perspectives. It normally happens when one spends a lot of time now and then fantasising that both of you might fall back in love and continue with your romance.
It slowly drains you into having mix emotions between your current and old relationship. If this happens more than often then you haven't moved on completely.
Dating with a vendetta: this is basically dating someone new only to prove a point to you're ex. In more cases, it may be a good way to piss your ex off, but once the high of rubbing in it on your ex's face wears off you'll realize that you still have a soft spot for your ex.
Online research: going through your ex-various social media accounts now and then is not healthy for your new relationship. Digging the dirt on your ex is a clear indication that you're still obsessed with your ex. It only brings heartbreak and misery to your new relationship.
Learning to move on is always the best way. It may take a while but by letting go of your ex's thoughts and avoiding ways to know more about your ex can help you move on and get over them completely.
