At the TSC headquarters on Wednesday, Arati stood in solidarity with hundreds of teachers mainly from Gusii region working in the security challenged regions.

"These people are human and we cannot just be silent when they are facing serious security challenges where they are working.

"It is not their fault that our boarders are porous thus I demand that TSC effects their transfers to safer regions anywhere across the country," he said.

An attack by suspected Alshabaab militia last month in Wajir, has led to a mass exodus of teachers from the Northern Frontier Districts of Mandera, Wajir and Garissa.

But Arati, the second term Dagoretti North MP, argues that the Gusii community has dearly paid for insecurity within the country since 2011.

"Most of the teachers butchered in 2014 were from Kisii same as Garissa University students and even our soldiers. Time has come for us o speak," he added.
