While addressing a mammoth crowd at Bobasi on Sunday, Arati narrated discrimination the community has allegedly undergone since independence.

In a ceremony widely boycotted by local leadership, Arati however dismissed claims that he was keen to run as Kisii governor in 2022.

"I am keen to take my people to Canaan. We have suffered a lot since independence and we must give a new dimension to Gusii people.

"As a leader, I am not interested to run away from Nairobi because I will even serve our people's interest better while there," he said.

While a number of pundits have linked him with a possible switch of allegiance to Gusii, Arati is however tipped to go for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
