Plans to crown Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati as Gusii spokesman are on final gears with local leaders remaining tight-lipped over the matter.
Known for his fierce politics in the capital, Arati has a huge backing from youthful population who think he 'qualifies' for the position.
"Personally I have no problem with Arati being our spokesman. He has proven that by fighting for the community," said Ondari Ayiecha.
The inaugural ceremony set on Sunday this week would elicit fierce political rivalry with experienced politicians among them Senator Sam Ongeri said to be against it.
Organisers led by Youth Leader Beavon Magare insisted the programme has blessings from the local community.
"The idea has thrilled the youthful population and even the old. We shall crown him on Sunday. We are in final stages of the process," he said.
Serving his second term in parliament, Arati is one of two MPs from Gusii community to ever serve outside the locality along with Simon Arama of Nakuru Town West.
