Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to punish corrupt officials implicated in the National Youth Service.
According to the NASA MP, the officials are tainting the name of the Jubilee government by stealing money which should be used to initiate various development projects in the country.
“Uhuru should move with speed and ensure corrupt officials in his government are arrested and prosecuted for stealing public funds meant for development to boost the lives of Kenyans,” he said.
Arati claimed that the latest NYS scandal involved officials in the government who are closely with the Head of State.
“Uhuru’s close friends have been involved in the latest NYS scandal. I am calling on Uhuru to be careful and ensure NYS and the agriculture department corrupt officials are punished as required by the law,” he added.
Arati warned politicians against stealing public funds to use in the 2022 campaigns.
He urged leaders from the Gusii community to distance themselves from corrupt dealings and focus on developing their respective areas of administration to boost the lives of the residents.
The lawmaker was speaking in Bobasi constituency Kisii County on Thursday.
