Simba Energy Company in Wajir County were forced to call off their works after Wajir locals vandalized work equipment.
The oil exploration work at Block 2A conducted by the Simba Company was paralysed for the last six days after locals cut off exploratory cables.
The locals cut off cables and laid it on the yard, paralysing work from taking place.
The country Director Simba energy James Jenkins told NTV that they are being hindered to continue the work by some individuals who do not want to see the success of the exploration work.
“Because of miscommunication by the committee to the community, the community was getting the wrong information about what we were doing and how we are going to disrupt their life style,” said Jenkins.
The locals blamed the company off not honouring an MoU signed with the community that led to the vandalizing.
