Although married to bitter political spouses, Ida Odinga and First Lady Margret Kenyatta share a shocking similarity that many may have not known.
The two most popular ladies in the country at one time studied teaching in university, a career that is always at loggerheads with government.
At her early stages, Ms Odinga took Bachelor of Arts in teaching at the University of Nairobi before getting a job at Kenya High which she would later quit following his husband’s trouble with establishment.
It is at the University of Nairobi where Ms Odinga met Raila Odinga who at the time was a lecturer at the department of engineering.
On Margret, she studied teaching at Kenyatta University and reverted to house wife moments after she was through with her education. She has been instrumental in Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership.
Also in the teaching profession is Rachael Ruto, wife to Deputy President William Ruto who went to Kenyatta University.
