The best way to determine whether your kidney is functioning well is by regularly getting urine and kidney function tests.  If the kidney will not be functioning well, catching any kidney damage in early stages will help curb the problem easily.

By maintaining our blood pressure and blood sugar levels

Blood pressure and blood sugar levels in our body will determine the damage done to our kidneys. Controlling the two will lead to a healthy kidney.

Avoid long term painkiller

You should always avoid intake of long term painkillers, unless by a prescribed by a doctor. Some of these painkillers cause causes kidney failures, like Ibuprofen and Naproxen for pain.

Drink plenty of water

A kidney uses water in filtration of toxins and waste products in the body. Therefore, always take in a lot of water to supplement all the body processes. Take note as long term damage done to the kidney is irreversible.
