Education cabinet secretary, Amina Mohamed on Friday visited Singore girls high school in Iten, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, which emerged the top in the 2017 KCSE examination.

The CS said that government is keen to improve the education sector in the country by ensuring they supply books and money to schools."We have been supporting schools. We are ensuring that we supply enough books to schools so that our students can achieve good results," said Amina.The CS said her ministry will award the school with sh15million for further development after posting exemplary results last year.

"Today we have received two other requests to support the school. I pledge that my ministry will award sh15 million for further development and improvement of facilities so that you can continue producing excellent results," said Amina amid cheers from the congregation.

The CS further urged the students to continue pressing harder in the incoming national examinations so that they can come over again to celebrate.

Sing'ore girls registered 15 A-, 165 B+, and 8B- having all 271 candidates securing university direct entry points.

CS Amina Mohamed was accompanied by Governor Alex Tolgos, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Simon Kachapin who is the Chief Administrative Secretary in the ministry, among other leaders.
