The funeral service of two sisters, Vennah Isoe, 20, and a one Valarie, 19, conducted at St Paul's Nyabururu Teachers Training College grounds on Tuesday was attended by hundreds of mourners among them Governor James Ongwae.
The two died two weeks ago in a road accident at Etora along the Kisii- Kilgoris road.
Speakers at the event moved the crowd to tears as they kept on singing praises to the deceased girls.
The speakers said the duo were focused and always wanted to help their community as well family.
Their mother, Rachael Muthiga, called for God’s intervention as the family tries to come to terms with the loss of the two.
Governor Ongwae said the girls' demise is not only a loss to the family but the country at large.
He promised that the county government will foot fees for Adrian Mose, who is the only child left in Ms Muthiga's family and studying at Kanyagwanga High School in form one.
Area MP Richard Onyonka called on the family to form a foundation for the two ladies so that it can be used to help the needy children in society.
He pledged to donate Sh100,000 towards the foundation when formed.
Women representative Mary Otara also attended the funeral.
