After he was blocked from attending the relaunching of the Mtongwe ferry, March 13, Mombasa governor has hit back at president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ali Hassan Joho was blocked by GSU officers attached to the presidential security team at Nyali bridge, and was forced to spend the better part of that day in his office, until the event ended.

During the event officiated by Kenyatta, he warned Joho that he should stop following him around because he was not his (Joho's) wife.He also warned him, saying he would be dealt with accordingly, if Joho does not stop 'joking around with him'.

However, the ODM deputy party leader could not let the threats, pass.

During a campaign rally in Taita Taveta county, Joho warned Uhuru that he can not be threatened.

"I am not someone who can be threatened. Do not dare me. I work for my people and what concerns them, concerns me. (Mimi sitishwi my friend. Usinichezee),'' Joho said.

He further slammed the Jubilee government for allegedly sidelining Coast residents, saying the Opposition would takeover in August.
