Police have arrested six suspects over the murder of Nakuru RFC player Mike Okombe.

The six presented themselves to Nakuru criminal investigations regional commander together with their lawyer Kamau Chomba.

They were then handed over to the Rongai division for further investigations.

Confirming the arrests, Rongai OCPD Joseph Kioko said the six will be arraigned in court immediately police are done with their investigations.

“We have six suspects in custody, including the lady and those who were partying with the deceased (Mike Okombe). They surrendered today (Monday),” Kioko said as reported by Standard.

Earlier reports indicated that Okombe was stabbed to death by his girlfriend following an alteration at the birthday party of a friend in Nakuru.

The girlfriend's lawyer told police she was not aware Okombe had been seriously injured.

“My client has not been on the run and she has always been available. No one even informed her of the death of her boyfriend until late in the day,” said Chomba.
