Police in Riuru on Tuesday afternoon arrested six people with three sacks of bhang at a house in Kihunguro estate near Ruiru town.
This was after a tip-off from nyumba kumi officials in the area.
The six suspects had slaughtered a goat and were merry-making at the time the police nabbed them.
Ruiru OCPD, Isaac Thuranira, said the police also uprooted 53 plants of bhang planted by the suspects.
"We arrested six people with three sacks of bhang and uprooted 53 plants of bhang planted behind a house in Kihunguro estate," reported Thuranira.
It is also alleged that the owner of the house was not residing in it and could have been using to store the substance before selling it to different outlets.
The OCPD has urged the residents to support nyumba kumi initiative and report any person engaged in drug dealing.
The six were taken to Ruiru Police Station and will be arraigned in court today.
This comes two weeks after some of the notorious bhang peddlers in Juja and Ruiru voluntarily surrendered to the police.
