Six suspects accused of using social media to incite the public were arrested on Wednesday in Kisii town.
Kisii Central OCPD Francis Nguli confirmed the incident saying that the suspects were found at a local hotel by officers who were trailing them.
They include Dennis Mosoti, Ben Nyamwaro, Paul Ochora, Paul Makini, Josephat Nyaberi and Rodgers Onyancha.
"The suspects have been posting inciteful messages on social media. Once the police are through with investigations media shall arraign the suspects in court," said Mr Nguli.
He urged young people to quit using social media illegally warning that suspects will not be spared.
He also said that they were still pursuing another suspect who is still at large.
