Gladys Wanga who is the Homa Bay County ODM chairperson said that the cash came from party leader Raila Odinga and is a show that he supports the residents.

"The party will also offer support to others hurt during the anti-IEBC demonstrations," Wanga said on Friday.

Wanga said the party is working on ways to ensure that the party is strengthened at branch levels.

The county ODM Secretary General Oyugi Magwanga who is also the Kasipul Kabondo MP said the party is intending to conduct a free and fair nomination exercise next year to ensure that certificates are only given to bonafide candidates.

"We want to ensure that the party is intact in readiness for next year's election. We would not want to experience fresh leadership wrangles here in Homa Bay," Magwanga was quoted by the Star.

The Kasipul Kabondo MP said he stands with ODM leader Raila Odinga for hailing the exit of the IEBC Commissioners from office saying it was long overdue.
