President Uhuru Kenyatta could recruit six new faces to his cabinet as he prepares to start his second term, which could prove rather difficult due to stiff opposition, reports the Daily Nation.

Also, seven Cabinet Secretaries could be axed to pave way for a rather political cabinet as the president plans to accommodate his campaigners who failed in various elective seats.

With the constitution only allowing a maximum of 22, Uhuru will only have three more slots to fill given that the current cabinet constitute of 19 people.

“He has options to make the slots maximum and he will have to satisfy some of those who lost seats when campaigning for him,” says Dismas Mokua.

Elgeyo-Marakwet Kipchumba Murkomen adds: “I believe the face of Kenya will be reflected despite the fact that we may have new faces.”

Among those considered according to the Nation are Ex-Governors Isaac Ruto and Peter Munya who reduced opposition in Uhuru’s repeat poll campaigns.

Also in the long list include Ababu Namwamba, Paul Otuoma, Gideon Mung’aro and former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.
