NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has accused the government, of eliminating political opponents.

Kalonzo who is the WDM-K party leader, said the alliance was aware of alleged plans by the government to 'eliminate' additional six people, before the elections date of August 8.

Speaking at Gusii Stadium in Kisii County, Kalonzo cited the murder of the IEBC ICT manager, Chris Msando, saying it was well planned, and that it was political.

He faulted the Acting Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, saying there have been disappearances and murders, since he took over from the late Joseph Ole Nkaissery, last month.

"Matiang'i must go! There have been murders since he took over. We are putting him on spot. We know there is a plan to eliminate political opponents. We know they have a list, and they have planned to eliminate six more people before elections day," Kalonzo told supporters.

On his part, NASA co-principal Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula added that Kenyans should be assured of their security, to end cases of murders.

"We were among the first persons to view the body of our brother Msando. I tell you his body had been tortured. They can kill Msando, but they should be sure that they will not be in office after August 8," he said.

Msando was reported missing on Friday July 28, and his body was identified at the City Mortuary on Monday July 31. He was the key ICT figure at the IEBC according to chairman Wafula Chebukati.

The police, through spokesperson Charlse Owino, has urged Kenyans to stop speculations over the murder, and assured Kenyans that investigations were underway to get his killers.

President Uhuru Kenyatta also called for speedy investigations into the incident, during his campaign tour of Uasin Gishu County, Tuesday, after he conveyed his condolences to Msando's family.
