Thika police officers have arrested six suspected criminals who are alleged to have killed a business man in Majengo slums in Thika west sub-county.

Addressing journalists on Monday at Majengo slums, Thika deputy OCPD Mary Kiarie said that two more thugs were under probe and that the six would help to apprehend the rest.

The six, John Ndung’u, Maigua Martin, Moses Karanja, Titus Musembi, Fredrick Waiganjo and Michael Kamau were arrested in a rental house in Majengo after a member of the public tipped off the police.

Three pangas, a spear, a fake pistol and six needles which the officer said might have been used in criminal activities were recovered by the police during the raid.

Kiarie said police records indicate that the six are suspected to have killed a business man in Majengo business apartment last month.

She thanked the member of the public for volunteering information that assisted police to arrest the suspects.

The police boss however asked the area residents to come forward and record statements to help prosecute the suspects.

Kiarie said that the suspects will be arraigned in Thika courts on Tuesday where they will be charged with robbery with violence.

She asked the remaining culprits to surrender to the nearest police station stating that their days were numbered and the long arm of the law will catch up with them very soon.

The six are being held at Thika police station.
