[Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka. He has said the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)will not succeed in achieveing the six piece voting pattern currently being fronted by its leader Raila Odinga in Kisii county]
A National Super Alliance (Nasa) MP from Kisii county has told former prime minister Raila Odinga to desist from compelling the electorate into voting for ODM allied aspirants in the forthcoming general elections.
Kitutu Chache MP Richard Momoima Onyonka on Tuesday told the ODM party leader to instead concetrate on his presidential bid and leave the good grassroot politics alone saying the electorate had become more informed in electing its representatives.
Speaking during an interview on NTV's AM live show on Tuesday,Onyonka who is the Ford Kenya deputy party leader insisted that the drive by Mr Odinga to have only ODM candidates elected by the people would cause an uproar and massive fallout in the larger Nasa outfit.
"In Kisii alone the six piece cannot work in favour of ODM because the other Nasa affiliates have also fielded candidates who if anything are more stronger than those of ODM.It is thus far fetched for Mr Odinga to call for an 'ODM suit'", he said.
Incidentally Onyonka who was elected on an ODM ticket decamped to Jubilee before rejoining ODM and finally settling in Ford Kenya.
He will face bitter rival Samwel Omwando of ODM in the August 8 polls.
