Multi-agency detectives on Tuesday nabbed six Range Rovers at the Port of Mombasa in a suspected tax evasion plot.The vehicles, which were contained in two 20-foot containers, had been disguised as household items before they were impounded by the multi-agency detectives.The containers were loaded on August 12 and 13, The Star reports.In the first container, the cars had been concealed as 300 boxes of roller skates, 140 boxes of skateboarding equipment, 86 pieces of office tables, boxing gym equipment and 104 boxes of stationery.The equipment had been shipped from port city of Felixstowe in Britain under code 39249000.The cars in the second container which were loaded at the port city of Khor Fakkan in Dubai under code 84592900 had been concealed as 85 boxes of cricket bats, 140 wraps of bouncy castles, 85 boxes of tennis equipment, 110 bags of roller skating equipment, 85 bags of soft baby toys and 300 bags of skateboarding equipment.The first and second containers were on transit to Focus CFS and Awanad CFS respectively.Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Media officer Lilian Achieng who commented on the matter, said official communication will be made after getting clearnce from all the departments.According to the daily, detectives are looking for consignees Santos Nyangala and Kim Johnson who are expected to aid in the investigations.
