There ongoing insecurity crisis in Laikipia has led to the closure of six schools and a dispensary.

The facilities affected are located in Ilng’wesi, Laikipia North sub county.

The recent attack in the area left one boy dead and scores nursing bullet wounds.

Residents of Borana, Ole Naishu, Lol Daiga and Chumvi villages have been forced to flee their homes following escalation of cases of insecurity in Laikipia.

Women and children have been the most affected by the ongoing conflict.

The latest development comes barely a month after a pregnant mother and her two sons were shot and seriously injured before being airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment.

Al Jijo dispensary and six schools have been deserted following the recent attack by armed raiders that resulted in the death of a fifteen year old boy who was shot dead while herding.
