Paul Wainaina, Christopher Lumbasio Andika, Andrew Karanja Wainaina, Samuel Kuria Ngugi, Esther Ndinda Mulinge and Ruth Vanessa Irungu who were arrested in January this year have been in custody since then. They have attempted to be bailed out on three occasions but in vain.

Presiding Judge Roselyn Korir finally granted them personal bail on their fourth attempt. They were however given a raft of preconditions that they must adhere to during their temporary freedom.

Key among the preconditions is that they do not venture beyond Kenyan borders as well as avoid interfering with witnesses in the Thuo-murder case.

Their first request for bond was rejected on March 20th this year, while the second one met the same fate on June 26.Such attempts were also rejected in September this year.

The late George Thuo who once served as Juja Member of Parliament met his death after he allegedly swallowed a highly toxic chemical believed to have been laced with his drink at Club Porkies in Thika town.
